Fieke Hemels, Talent & Development Advisor
Fieke Hemels, Talent & Development Advisor
"I am Talent & Development Advisor for WE Fashion," begins Fieke Hemels. "This means I am responsible for three different pillars; talent, development and recruitment. Recruiting new colleagues I mainly do for the head office." It is 2020 when Fieke ends up at WE® by chance. "I had just finished my studies and started looking for a suitable job. A position in HR seemed like the most obvious step, as I had also done my graduate internship within this sector." She applied and ended up in personnel administration. Fieke is motivated and eager to learn, which does not go unnoticed. "Together with my manager, I talked about my talents and learning goals and, based on this, my current position was created. A completely new role at the time, but this made the challenge extra fun."
"Making contact with colleagues is what I like most about my job," says Fieke. She says this lies in the diversity within the organization. "You meet different people, from different departments and with different functions. Everyone has a different way of thinking and acting, which makes WE® a vibrant gathering place for energy, creativity and togetherness." On top of this, Fieke experiences the freedom and versatility within her job as a great source of motivation.

Fieke has completely found her groove within the organization. "I get the real WE® feeling. From outings to events and even celebrating the smallest milestones." According to her, the 'Better Together' culture that forms the organization is therefore very tangible: "Everyone is willing to help each other and also grants each other this. Something I fully support." In addition, inclusiveness is an active topic within the department and entire organization. Fieke: "A lot of thought goes into it, something that seems self-evident to us, but of course this is not always the case. For example, you don't have to send a photo with your application, nor is mentioning your age an obligation. We recruit new colleagues based on talent!"
"I am proud of the steps I have already been able to take and I am happy with all the things I get to do. I really enjoy being able to discover new talents and see them grow within the organization that has also shaped me into who I am today." These are the first words that come to mind when Fieke looks back on the past few years. Although she has already made considerable strides, there is always more to learn, she believes. "I do something new every day and become wiser from the people around me." About the future, she does not yet have a concrete picture. "I am still discovering where my interests lie. So my future can still go either way." What she does know in any case is that WE® has a big part to play in this. Fieke: "Growing at WE Fashion is not a ten-year plan. You get the chance to discover yourself and become the best version of yourself in this - sometimes short - process."

Each day, both Marjonel and her team pull out all the stops to achieve the best collaborations: "You look at the full breadth of the organisation - from logistics to marketing - and come up with new ideas to take the collaboration with an online partner to the next level."
Patrick is a big believer in teamwork and very proud of his team: "I love working with them to develop an idea, starting with little more than a piece of paper and a pencil."
Shannon has completely settled in at WE®: “I’ve been promoted several times. I believe that anything is possible, as long as you are eager to learn.”
