Buyer Kidswear Denim - Maternity Leave

YOU WORK FOR WE®

As a Buyer, you’ll play a key role in developing and sourcing our Kidswear collections, with a focus on denim. You have a keen eye for fits, washes, and finishes and know how to turn the latest denim trends into commercial and wearable styles for our youngest audience. You’ll be responsible for the entire buying process, from selecting high-quality fabrics and negotiating competitive prices to creating production schedules and choosing the right suppliers. Your suppliers are located in China, Bangladesh, and Vietnam, and you’ll maintain these relationships both digitally and through regular visits. You’ll negotiate price, quality, and delivery terms while closely overseeing compliance with our quality and CSR standards.

In this role, you’ll provide strategic input and work closely with the Design and Merchandising teams. Based on market analysis and trend insights, you’ll collaborate with Design to translate consumer needs into concrete collections. Together with Merchandising, you’ll create a strategic plan to offer the right products in the best locations and at the best times, actively adjusting throughout the season to optimize results.

You’ll also manage a Buying Assistant, who is responsible for order processing and administrative support. You’ll maintain an overview, keep the buying system accurate and up-to-date, and use data for analysis and reporting. This allows you to quickly respond to changes and continuously improve processes.
Additionally, you’ll collaborate with various departments at the head office, such as Marketing, E-commerce, Distribution, Visual Merchandising, and Finance, and regularly visit our stores to gather information from the shopfloor.

What we expect from you:

  • You have 5 to 7 years of experience within a Buying department, having been responsible for a product group and having experience with denim, preferably in kidswear.
  • You have technical denim knowledge of (sustainable) fabrics and washes.
  • You have an eye for detail and strong communication skills in your interactions with others.
  • You think commercially and are not afraid to make decisions.
  • This is a temporary position due to leave from January through July.
  • Lastly, you have a passion for Kidswear fashion and already know what next season’s trends will be.

We evaluate all applicants based on competencies, experience, and equal pay m/f/x.
