Nick de Maeyer, Real Estate Director
"I am a Real Estate Director," Nick de Maeyer begins. "This means that I carry the overall responsibilities for our store portfolio, real estate strategy and the leases of our properties." On a daily basis, Nick strives for all WE® stores in Europe to make a positive contribution to the customer, organisation and environment. “To make this possible, I regularly consult with landlords and store staff, so I can collaboratively create the ideal situation at their current - or new - location.” We’re looking for the perfect spot in the high street and enjoy the challenge of finding it every time. In addition, I’m also involved in determining the location of existing shops. I, for example, consider what impact a relocation might have and delve into the influences of current contract conditions."

"The right balance between people and the organisation, that is the main focus of my job and a great motivation to me," Nick says. Although he has many responsibilities and sometimes finds himself in difficult positions, he wouldn't want to give up his job for anything. "When I walk into one of our stores, a smile immediately appears on my face," Nick explains. "I do my job with a lot of enthusiasm, which makes it all the more important that store staff sees this. After all, the Store Managers are my eyes and ears on the high street." Setting aside time in the schedule to have a chat is a regular occurrence for Nick. "I like to hear what they need, am curious about what goes well and what obstacles they encounter. That way we can continue to innovate and optimise as an organisation." WE Fashion's cooperative nature and transparent culture, he says, contributes greatly to this. "There really is a family feeling here, this concerns the stores, but also the headquarters. Short lines of communication have allowed me to build a good relationship with many colleagues and others involved. With them, I achieve the best results and the best collaborations arise."
"I quite like a challenge, the results you achieve are often much more fun when you have to think in creative solutions. That's why I'd like to continue learning in the future," Nick says, as he takes a moment to reflect on what he has already been privileged to achieve. "I don't experience my job as work, I actually really enjoy it. Therefore, I hope I can continue to grow and I am very curious about the developments we will see in the future. And yes, this all happens at WE Fashion, of course."

At WE Fashion, one believes in the power of collaboration. Wesley fully endorses this: "You're not going to find these standards, values, cooperative atmosphere and way of interacting elsewhere."
Shannon has completely settled in at WE®: “I’ve been promoted several times. I believe that anything is possible, as long as you are eager to learn.”
Patrick is a big believer in teamwork and very proud of his team: "I love working with them to develop an idea, starting with little more than a piece of paper and a pencil."
